The SaaS Business podcast is for people who have or want to have a SaaS business. In case you don’t know what SaaS means, SaaS is an acronym for “software as a service.” In very simple terms, a SaaS product is a software application on a website that customers subscribe to. To make money, SaaS businesses charge their customers for these web-based (often called cloud-based) services.
So, do you want to start a SaaS business? Do you have one? Are you by any chance overwhelmed by everything you need to learn and do to get off the ground? Are you in overload? Is the overload slowing your progress? Do you feel like you’re adrift and need a lifeline? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then this podcast is for you. My first three goals for the SaaS Business Podcast are to help you
- Get your business up and running
- Make your business profitable
- Grow your business.
If you’re like most people, you probably start well, but then overload comes, and overload is soon followed by frustration. You end up frustrated because you’re trying to figure out everything on your own and what you’re doing isn’t moving you forward fast enough.
Until now the only efficient way to learn how to build a SaaS business was to buy courses, attend distant seminars, and hire coaches–all at great expense. Don’t get me wrong; these can be extremely valuable–and I may recommend or even create some of these along the way–but you can spend an awful lot of money before getting a return on your investment. I want to give you another way to get started. Another big problem with these methods is that they take a lot of time to learn and implement; and then to get the desired results, you must pass through your fair share of failures. If you learn from your failures, you make progress, but wouldn’t you really rather minimize the failure? Failure can be expensive. Wouldn’t you rather learn from other people’s failures?
This is why I’m excited to be able to share the SaaS Business Podcast with you. I want to help you achieve the highest levels of success possible in your SaaS business. Whether you’re trying to find a market, develop a SaaS product, or grow your SaaS business, the SaaS Business Podcast will provide you with missing pieces of the puzzle, pieces you need to finally turn your dreams into reality. But the best thing about the SaaS Business Podcast, the thing that makes it different from other things you may have seen, is that it’s free (but you can support us if you want to; see the “Support” tab)!
I’m creating the SaaS Business Podcast for you because I understand that most people just can’t afford to fork over hundreds of dollars every time they’re faced with a new challenge. I want great success for you and your business, and I want the SaaS Business Podcast to be central to that success. I want the SaaS Business Podcast to be a singular resource to change your business and then your life.
I will work for you. I will research. I will filter information. I will test and review tools. I will find experts and interview them. I will bring you success stories to inspire you and cautionary tales to warn you. I will listen to your feedback.
For now, you investment time, time listening and ideally (but optionally) time giving me feedback about your SaaS business needs and wants. If you give me feedback, you help to steer where the podcast goes and what we accomplish. The more you give me feedback, the more we are in this together.
How will the SaaS Business Podcast help you break out and move forward? Here’s just a small sample of the things we’ll cover together:
- Adopt a growth mindset
- Develop a mental edge over your competition
- Become more determined to reach your objectives
- Model yourself after successful people to build solid habits
- Skip weeks of mind-numbing search
- Find key elements you need to make it easier to succeed
- Organize your thoughts and create powerful action plans
- Get easy to follow step-by-step instructions you can implement now
- Find a profitable niche
- Create evergreen products
- Roll out highly profitable product launches
- Generate traffic using Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and webinars
- Connect with an amazing group of positive action-oriented people who will lift up your spirits, boost your motivation, and cheer you on to success
That’s just a taste. Would knowing these things help you?
Even though many of the subjects we will cover will apply to other businesses, the focus is on SaaS businesses. Also, please note that the focus is not on the hard-core technical aspects of software development; the podcast is not called the SaaS Development Podcast. Although we will discuss software development, platforms, and developers, we will look at software development from the point of view of the business owner. I assume that you will hire developers rather than do the development yourself, or at least that you intend to move in that direction as your business grows.
For each podcast episode, there will be a corresponding post on the website that contains show notes for the episode and links to resources mentioned in it. Each post will be designed to help you quickly find specific things you heard in the podcast. I want the website to become the first place you go when you need help with your SaaS business. By the way, to get to any episode post, just enter SaaSBusinessPodcast.com followed by a forward slash and the 3-digit episode number into your browser’s address field.
There will be opportunities for you support the podcast. There are affiliate links and someday there may be some discrete advertising. As the podcast and my business grow, I will develop products and services beyond my free offerings. These products will be designed to help you take action and move forward faster, cheaper, and more efficiently. I cannot predict the future, but my plan is not to replace this podcast with these products and services.
I’m confident that the SaaS Business Podcast will be what you need it to be if you will stick with it. The SaaS Business Podcast may just be the missing link you’ve been searching for to finally turn your hopes and dreams into reality, and it’s just a few clicks and a little listening time away, time when you will probably be driving, walking, cleaning the house, or working out anyway.
